For anyone to receive disability benefits, the disabled person must first convince an overseeing body about the level of disability. A Vocational Assessment from Expert Assessments, LLC can help individual claimants make a more effective presentation.
Attorneys have an old saying, “The lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client.” While this wisdom is not 100% applicable to all disability claims, it does make a relevant point. When your future income is in question, you have a lot at stake. The objectivity of an expert who has your best interest at heart can make a big difference.
What is a Vocational Assessment? Put simply, a Vocational Assessment has four parts. First, the vocational expert defines the duties of jobs you might hold. Secondly, the vocational expert describes the physical and mental capacities one must have to perform those jobs. Then, the vocational evaluator compares those job requirements with your/the client’s individual limitations. Finally, the vocational assessment describes what economic impact (if any) the disability will have on the disabled person. In addition to gathering medical records and designing your vocational evaluation, Expert Assessments can send a vocational evaluator to your hearing to present and/or defend his evaluation.
What is a Certified Vocational Evaluator? He/she is an independent, objective expert trained to render opinions on matters of disability and work capacity. A vocational assessment from Expert Assessments, LLC will help you make the most effective presentation of your disability.
Disagreements with Your Doctor: MD’s are not vocational evaluators. MD’s are experts in your health and wellness. Expert Assessments, LLC will use your medical records and your doctor’s notes to summarize your particular limitations. However, the MD typically does not have specific training in comparing your disability to job requirements and assessing the economic impact of disability. If you are in a situation where someone, even your doctor, is not accurately assessing the requirements of your job, a vocational evaluator may be able to help.
Who hires a Vocational Evaluator? Anyone can hire a vocational evaluator. Vocational Evaluators typically are hired by disabled individuals, attorneys, and insurance companies.
